My eye infection started with blurry vision and I figured it was because I'm getting old (well, I am), so I didn't worry too much about it. Then a few days later, my eye started getting really red and then a few days after that, it started itching. So I made an appointment with my dr. and he said it could be an infection or allergies and then gave me an allergy med and an anti-biotic. The allergy meds didn't seem to work because my eye was still itching, with no relief. And the eye drops (anti-biotic) burned every time I used them. So, later in the week I woke up with my eye swollen practically shut and it burned and itched so bad that I wanted to tear my eye out (sorry-a bit graphic, but exactly how I felt). Then I began to cry (sob, if you want to know the truth of it) and poor Ray-Ray felt so bad for me that she brought me breakfast on a tray and told The Mulk that I was dying. We went to the eye dr. and he immediately said I have blephoritis which is a condition that some fair skinned people get where bacteria lives on your eye lashes and under the lid of your eye and it can become infected at times. He gave me some eye drops (different than the other and then told me that 50% of the population is allergic to neosporin which is most likely why the anti-biotic burned so badly) and told me I would need to start using a mild cleansing soap on my eyes every day. That night i felt soooo much better and my eye cleared up within 2 days. It was wonderful! But, the blurry vision continued, so again I headed to the eye doctor. After much testing, I am now headed to a specialist because there is something more than just blepharitis. My appt. is in about 2 weeks, so I will keep you posted. Getting old isn't all its cracked up to be!
I have been released from my beloved primary calling. Sad! I really did know that it was time - that I had built a good relationship with the children, that I had helped them feel the spirit of our Heavenly Father, and that I need to be with the adults again-but it didn't make it any easier to leave. I'm feeling a bit lost and out of place, but with the release of one calling comes another calling and I know it will be the right thing for me in my life at this time. But until they give me a new calling, I just need to relax and enjoy being a student of others right now. *Sigh* - I do miss those kids and their sweet, goofy, energetic, and loving personalities!
On to some happy news - The Mulk has moved on in his career. He will no longer be talking about people who can't seem to understand that trains are dangerous if you aren't careful. He will no longer be facing those "tough" reporters and their "tough" questions. And, most importantly, he will no longer be hooked to his job 24/7! We get our daddy and hubby back!! Yay! He is now working as a marketing manager for a credit union. He has been there a week now and is really, really enjoying it! He has a good team that he works with and, even though it involves a different level of stress, it isn't like it was at his old job. He comes home happy and is able to give us his full attention. It's wonderful! We are very grateful for the opportunities and privileges that his previous employer provided. They are good people providing a valuable service, but the job itself was very demanding and we needed something different. We are grateful to the Lord for his watchful eye and tender mercies toward our family. Without Him in our lives, we would find life more difficult.
After this much snow in one day, a fire was definitely enjoyed! We are finally able to see grass after a month of huge amounts of snow (even if it's dead brown grass, it is still grass). Spring time - we are ready for you! :)
