Being the "bad" mom that I am, I completely forgot to bring tennis shoes for Kitty! I brought thick socks to wear, but forgot shoes. I felt REALLY bad!

Kitty playing in the dirt. Isn't that what camping is all about?

The flowers were everywhere this year.

So green and beautiful!

Kitty sitting on a "chair" in the fort the Mulk and Snorr made for her.

Blowing bubbles.

Kitty swinging on the zip line.

Ray-Ray on the zip line.

Time for hot dogs.

The dog that entertained us all.

Snorr and Ray-Ray watching TV one last time before going home.

This is the Mulk waiting for the children to finish watching one last cable TV show before going home (yes, our family cabin has cable TV and because we don't have cable at home, it is a constant battle to get the kids to enjoy the great outdoors instead of watching the great TV). The Mulk said to me, "And this would be my 'hurry up and wait so that we can go home' face." It was only a few minutes later that the electricity "happened" to break down and the TV no longer worked.
This year's trip to my family's cabin was a bit different than the rest. My dad normally has 4 wheelers for the family to ride around on, but this year he didn't have them available. My kids were SOOOO disappointed and the Mulk and I were SOOOO happy! It meant no fighting over who gets to ride first and no whining about how often they get to ride. So we actually camped like "regular folk" and played games and went on hikes and built forts, etc. It was great! We even had my counsin's dog come into camp that LOVED playing fetch, so Ray-Ray and Kitty had a blast playing fetch with him. He was quite a funny dog. If we weren't playing fetch with him, then he would pick up the ball, set it close to our feet, and bark. Then if we ignored him, he would pick it up, put it closer to our feet, and bark again. It was like he was saying, "Here - I will set it closer so that you can reach it. Can we play now?" Anyways, he was fun and helped distract the children from being bored.
